Planning enclosed car shipping? Tell Yellowfin Logistics about your route, vehicle and preferred pickup date. We arrange vehicle shipments with independent carriers and can review enclosed transport options for your move.

An enclosed trailer adds a roof and sides between your vehicle and outside weather or road debris. It is worth considering for a classic, collector, luxury or custom vehicle when reducing exposure is a priority.

Request an enclosed auto transport quote. Include your enclosed preference and any special vehicle requirements.

Is enclosed transport right for your car?

Consider the vehicle’s finish, modifications and the exposure you are comfortable with during a carrier shipment. An everyday car can also travel enclosed if that suits your priorities and the available equipment.

The trailer is only part of the decision. Your route, vehicle dimensions, running condition and pickup window help determine the options available for your shipment. If you are still choosing, our open vs enclosed car shipping guide compares the two approaches.

What should you confirm about the trailer and loading?

Ask which trailer and loading equipment will be used for your vehicle. Before dispatch, disclose modifications that affect its length, width, height or weight, and tell Yellowfin if ground clearance is below four inches.

Say whether the vehicle starts and can be driven onto and off the trailer. If it does not run, explain whether it rolls, brakes and steers so the loading arrangements can be checked. An enclosed trailer alone does not establish that a particular vehicle can be loaded.

Confirm special requirements before booking rather than assuming that every enclosed carrier has the same equipment. For preparation steps, use our car shipping checklist.

How much does enclosed car shipping cost?

Request a personalized quote for your actual shipment. Provide the pickup and delivery locations, vehicle year, make and model, operating condition, modifications and preferred pickup date. Explain any truck-access restrictions or important date constraints.

To compare open and enclosed options, use the same shipment details for both quotes. A general price range or fixed percentage premium will not confirm the price for your move.

Review the total price and payment stages before booking. Under Yellowfin’s current terms, the broker service-fee deposit becomes due once a carrier is assigned. The remaining carrier balance is due at delivery. Confirm the carrier’s preferred payment method and correct company name before pickup.

How does an enclosed shipment work with Yellowfin?

  1. Request a quote. Share the route, vehicle details, enclosed preference and preferred pickup date.
  2. Review the arrangements. Confirm the quoted service, vehicle requirements, payment stages and current terms before booking.
  3. Receive carrier details. Once assigned, you receive the carrier’s name, business phone number and estimated pickup date, with a delivery estimate when available.
  4. Inspect at pickup. Check that the carrier name on the truck matches your dispatch sheet. Inspect the vehicle with the driver and keep the signed condition report.
  5. Inspect at delivery. Check the vehicle again, record any new damage on the delivery report and pay the carrier balance as agreed.

After assignment, contact the carrier for shipment updates. Yellowfin remains available in a supporting role throughout the shipment.

When will the vehicle be picked up and delivered?

Tell the team your preferred dates and how flexible your schedule is. Carrier assignment, pickup scheduling and travel time are separate parts of planning the move.

The assigned carrier supplies projected dates; pickup and delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. Weather, road conditions, mechanical problems and delays at other stops can change the schedule. For a long-distance move, our cross-country car shipping guide explains what to plan around.

Door-to-door arrangements also depend on safe truck access. If the carrier cannot reach an address safely, you agree to meet at a nearby suitable location under the current terms.

What should you check about insurance?

Enclosed describes the trailer, not the insurance coverage. Ask about the assigned carrier’s policy limits, exclusions and suitability for your vehicle before pickup.

Inspect the vehicle with the driver at pickup and delivery, keep the signed reports and note any new damage on the final inspection report. Review the auto shipping insurance guide and current terms and conditions for the roles, inspection requirements and claims process.
